Does this Union cover me?

What is the application wait time?
The District Secretary signs off and then enters the information into the database generally within 2 to 3 days. Depending on payment options selected by the applicant, after the payment is processed and cleared at the bank the applicant becomes financial.
What do I get with my membership?
Industrial representatives to assist on matters relating to employment; Safety and Health representatives to assist members in all aspects of workplace health and safety; District Officials to assist members and lodges with negotiations around workplace agreements, and resolving workplace disputes; National Assistance Fund – $200,000 if the member passes away while at work; access to Union Shopper; Banking; Health Fund and; Mortuary Benefit ($1500.00) and discounted rates for legal matters.
are union fees tax-deductible?
Yes, you can claim your standard union fees as a legitimate tax deduction. If you pay by payroll, the deduction amount will be printed on the payment summary from your employer. The Mining & Energy Union will send your statement to the email address provided upon membership application. You may also request your statement by email if you have changed your postal address.
